Vyhodnocení krajského kola literární soutěže GATE 2014
12.6.2014V jazykové škole Pygmalion se uskutečnila literární soutěž GATE, která je určená studentům 3. ročníků středních škol.
Tato soutěž probíhá, jak za finanční podpory jednotlivých měst, tak i za podpory Moravskoslezského kraje. Významným partnerem této soutěže je Oxford University Press.
Výherci této soutěže obdrželi hodnotné ceny (fotoaparát, flashdisky), ale ani ostatní účastníci, kteří byli odměněni knihami zjednodušené četby v anglickém jazyce, nemuseli být zklamáni.
V letošním roce se v krajském kole soutěže umístili:
1. místo: Adam Jurczyk- Gymnázium s polským jazykem vyučovacím - Gimnazjum z Polskim Językiem Nauczania, Český Těšín, příspěvková organizace
2. místo: Nikol Kaletová - Gymnázium, Třinec, příspěvková organizace
3. místo: Radek Pohořelský- Gymnázium, Ostrava-Hrabůvka, příspěvková organizace

...in the end, his dream destroyed him. Even though it happened in an indirect way, it did. I reckon that the worst mistake a man can make is forgetting the reality and not counting on the possibility that our dreams may not come true. If we focus on Gatsby, we will see the real face behind the mask of that great being. He was a common person like anyone else - stuck in the past, with his heart longing for what it had lost... In the beginning, Gatsby's dream was to be a proper gentleman. To be respected and to be known. But after he met Daisy his dream changed. He didn't want everything for himself, he wasn't greedy. He wanted everything just so he could give it to Daisy and all he asked for in return was her. To be his...
